My My My...Ok lets get to sports first here because there is alot. There is a bit of negativity involved here, so I want to make sure these girls get their due. They played one of the finest defensive games I have ever witnessed with my own two eyes. Tamia Nunes dropped 40 on the heads of anyone who got in her way. At this point...This kid is unstoppable. Grace dropped in 21 hard fought points. And I mean rough, dirt dawg, dug out points. These are the two best girl's high school basketball players in Central Ma. They are meshed at the moment like Kobe and Shaq. Tamia gets every rebound within arm's reach of her. Every steal. Grace O'Gara has the quickest face up, defensive hands I have ever seen. They both press non stop and goes equally as hard in transition. These girls are ready for the next level wherever that may be! Both of these girls are going to make some serious noise at the college level. This tandem should never be broken up. Janaya Hampton, Ari Gonzalez, Naima Bleou, Jazzy Santiago, Jayla Colon, Brian Bascones, Faith Jackson are all starters on every team we have faced this year. For this team, to be 100% honest, they shot a little cold and still walked away with a 79-26 Victory Vs. a very competitive Notre Dame Academy team today with tenacious "D" This team has no ceiling, sky is the limit.

Sharp Shooter Ari Gonzalez splash from the corner.

Freshman Sensation Jaizzy Santiago splash from the top of the key!

Tamia Nunes is a superstar, period.

Naima Bleou. She scorched Sutton last night and was smooth again today against ND!

Test Ace'd, You Just Got Grace'd! Grace O'Gara for 3!
I am so proud of these girls for the way they handled themselves on this court today. The sky is absolutely the limit for you girls, continue to play intense, disciplined, and keep working as hard as you do. I want to apologize to you ladies for the behavior you witnessed at Notre Dame today. THAT is NOT where our future is...That is one small minded piece of a dying community. We will not be treated like that ever again and please always remember...That is a character flaw and has nothing to do with you...I would like to immediately address the elephant in the room. There was a really bad undertone to the way South High, our team, and our fans were treated there today and it fell directly in my lap. Almost literally. A few different scenarios here. Weeks ago Coach McClain went to scout Notre Dame Academy and was denied access citing Covid rules by their AD. MIAA rules give coaches a pass for these rules for obvious reasons. So that's one strike. Rumor is there were in fact other coaches inside at the time he was denied, but don't have proof and that's neither here nor there. 2nd...They seemed to know who the fans from South were because they kept directing us into a corner as if to corral all the "public school" people. There was a very odd feel to it. I've been to 30 High School Games in the last 6months and didn't experienced this once. To be honest, it's kind of heartbreaking that this still exists. Now that's just my stuff. My own personal feelings. But here's the problem...After feeling the eyes on us from the rest of the crowd..I would say it was about 70/30% ratio in terms of fans. That gym is way too small and I don't know the going rate to go to Catholic School is these days, but I'm sure you can afford some type of expansion. You have a top level program...Probably why Coach McClain set up Warehouse sized gyms to train these girls in. And his budget sure as hell isn't the catholic church's.
Now after the game started and we were in our visitor's corner, I noticed the aura was just really different than the other games I've been too. While waiting for introductions, the announcer starting rattling off rules that I haven't heard at any other games like this. I mean, it's basic, I guess. Unwritten fan, crowd etiquette stuff but, it seemed like they were gearing up for a different element...
Now here is my favorite part. I get to introduce the first ever, Shamrock Sports 508 Fan Of The Week! Let me introduce to you my man Rumple Bro-skin. After that lengthy warning that felt like we were being read Miranda Rights, this NDA Superfan claps in the face of Grace O'Gara while she was on court.
This Pectoral Pickle literally started taunting Coach McClain impeding process of the game. Literally was clapping tough guy style in the face of a girl who was playing her heart out citing that we were beating them by too much..This man, according to their own rules should have been ejected from the game. South High Principal went to ensure the safety of one of his student athletes and I'm uncertain at this point of what actually happened..But I do believe Headmaster of Notre Dame came over and pushed Principal Jeff Creamer...and the fan was allowed to continue. This is a safety hazard. In a girls High School basketball game, where a Tight Shirt Teddy here should have not only been ejected, but had someone waiting for him outside. Get your shit together Notre Dame. And the ironic part of the whole thing...Our girls, our crowd, everyone there that was looked at as a potential probem, and made feel like we were beneath them, we walked silently out of there with class and a giant win! Proud of Colonel Nation today! Never been more proud to be a "City Kid"..Wooooooooooooooooooo! #508Forever #ColonelPride
PS. Your announcer needs to pay closer attention...We are the Colonels, not the Colonials..
