Gorilla Time!!! Shearns Boxing Promotions Fight Night in Framingham was a smash...Literally!

Writer: ShamrockHolmes508ShamrockHolmes508

Shearns Boxing Promotions put on one hell of a show on Saturday night at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom in Framingham Massachusetts. Classy Venue, comfortable and also now the owner of the first professional boxing event in Framingham history. Clean, plenty of parking, and I see many more events at this location.

Alot of buzz coming into this one from Shamrock Sports 508 about our guy, my friend, Josniel Castro. I waited a bit to see what the other writer's at the event wrote about because I'm learning from them. I'm basically in journalist college right now, but I always put my own spin on it. I found a niche. I seem a little distant at these events because I am an extremely deep thinker. We podcasted J a few times and It's always been a pleasure, refreshing to chat with him. Kid has heart, he's super grateful, the ceiling for him is way up there. The team of Chuck Shearns, Derik Rosario-Santos, and Kendrick Ball that walked him to the ring Saturday Night are guiding him to greatness. He's sitting at 6-0 professionally and is back at it November 6th. Watching this young man climb this ladder has been a privilege. No doubt, this is TeamShamrock's guy. Came from the bottom, fought through some serious adversity to be where he is today.

We did this right I believe. I figured why not sponsor my guy, get as many people as I could to make the trip to Framingham and hope for the best. My guy Ryan Platts(Platts Landscaping) figured the same. I think collectively, we brought about 20-30 people with us to support TG and Shearns Boxing. I had a monster of a table ringside starting with "Hurricane" Peter Mcneeley.

Recently Shamrock Sports 508 has made some key hires. My new Head of Security/Driver, Michael Moen picked Peter and brought him to hang with us for the fight. David "Whitey" Kenney was named official GM of Shamrock Sports 508 this week. My right hand guy and fighting expert. Also with us were Tina Kitteridge and Sara Petrozzi of Four Season's Nutrition in North Brookfield, Ma. They were our very first sponsor.

Not only that but she sponsored TG with all the right protein leading up to this fight with her 24Line Protein regimen designated for athletes so if anyone wants to improve their performance like TG, contact them. I would have loved to be at the table with them, but my seat was just fine.

Now, I'm still a newb, but I'm comfortable. When I walked in I spoke with Bob Trieger. He's the guy who tells you if you can be media or not in New England. He also runs Full Court Press, which basically covers all of New England Boxing. He sat me directly next to him, which gave me the ability to get this picture...Felix Parilla, out of New Haven Connecticut showed up and handled his business in his professional debut. 1-0 and a beautiful strategy.

The first fight out of the gate was a romp. Leonardo Ladeira collected his first professional victory, improving to 1-6, fighting out of Revere, Ma. It was a doozy. Straight KO.

I feel like I don't have words to describe Jeffrey Torres's fight. So here are a couple pictures.

Beginning....

End!

Sean Evans, fighting out of Shrewsbury Ma in his Pro debut did not disappoint either.

Unfortunately Kevin "Lucky" Lewis was supposed to fight in this slot. His opponent showed up overweight and they even made a deal to make weight again on the day of the fight but he showed up even heavier. Unlucky ironically. Next time Kev!

Elvis Figueroa came in 7-0, left 8-0 after a TKO Vs. Larry "Slo Mo" Smith. Have to give Larry credit. He was 12-49-2 going into this fight, but with how excited he was to fight, and the crowds reaction to him, you would think this dude was 100-0. Great attitude and to have that many professional fights. Kudos my man. You have a monstrous heart for your craft! Nothing but respect from here for both fighters.

So here's where we get serious. On August 26th this year, our geriatric President Bonehead decided we should not put forth a plan, but to just extract all of our troops out of Afghanistan in such a wreckless manner, 13 of our soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing. Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo gave her life for this country.

When it happened, I had a podcast with TG and we discussed it. Turns out, TG knew Johanny very well. In fact, grew up in Lawrence with her. Her family came to support J Saturday night and God Bless you guys! Rip Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo! Josniel fights with her in his heart and on his mind. Proudly.

TG Did not disappoint. Check Shamrock Sports 508 podcast page on Facebook for his fight video. Sheesh!

Last fight of the night was Nelson "Chino" Perez from Marlboro, Ma. Took him a few rounds to get loose I think, but crushed Ryan Venable in the end.

The night was phenomenal overall. Got to hang with some good people. Learn more about the boxing world inside and out. Huge Thanks to Chuck Shearns for letting us be a part of it. Big Thanks to my guy Peter Mcneeley for showing out with us. Huge thanks to Bob Trieger for creds and seat and just overall entertainment. It's easy to watch fights when you have the encyclopedia of boxing sitting next to you. Great night, looking forward to the next Shearns Boxing event.
